How to enlarge GIF or BMP graphics without image blurring

For those who have basic working knowledge of graphics softwares such as Paint Shop Pro, Corel Draw or Photoshop, enlarging images should not be a problem.

For those who do not use graphic softwares but still wish to enlarge the graphics for printing purposes or digital scrapbooking, you can easily do it by using Irfan View image converter programme that can be downloaded free for non commercial use at www.irfanview.com

After you have the programme installed on your computer (please see Irfan View's website for help on installation, sorry I do not support software installation), try the following tutorial made based on Irfan View version 3.80

Step 1
Go to the folder and double click onto the image you wish to enlarge
It should bring up the image in Irfan View window

Step 2
Go to "Image", then choose "Resize/Resample"

Step 3
Follow the instructions in the image below
An enlargement of 150% is chosen for this tutorial

Step 4
You will then see the result (example below, enlarged at 150%)

Step 5
You will need to save the image in order to keep it at the enlarged size
Choose "save as" so that you do not overwrite the original image file

Step 6
Now you can insert the new enlarged graphic to your printing programme, MS Word or digital scrapbook
